We live in Osseo, Wisconsin. The City of Osseo is located in northeastern Trempealeau County, Wisconsin. Osseo is an Indian name. One theory has the name coming from the " Song of Hiawatha" or " Osseo the son of the evening star".
The first homes in Osseo were built in 1860, and all the timber for the buildings were sawed out of jack pines native to the area. One of the centerpieces of the early days of the village was a mill. A dam was built to supply power to Linderman's Mill located about a mile west of town. The lake that formed behind it was called Lake Martha Fields, one of the first settlers in the village.
Since that time, a new dam was built, crossing beneath U.S. Highway 53. The Beef River above the dam widens into a small lake, making a pleasant setting for Osseo's Stoddard Park on the lakes south side.
While many sections of the county were losing population between 1920 and 1930, Osseo was gaining citizens. Osseo had an official population of 802 in 1920 and by 1933 it had grown to 933. The gain in population was the most marked of any village of the county. At the present time, with its strategic location at the junction of U.S.53, U.S.10, and Interstate 94, the city has a population of over 1,669.
Glen is trained as a Professional Farrier. A farrier is a specialist in equine hoof care, including the trimming and balancing of a horse's hoof so as to fit shoes to the horse's foot. A farrier couples blacksmith's skills (fabricating, adapting, and adjusting metal shoes) with veterinary medicine to address the care of the horse's feet. Farriers specialize in horse shoeing, focusing their time and effort on the care of the horse's foot. A farrier's routine work is primarily hoof trimming and shoeing. In addition Glen is working today as a professional driver and is discovering America firsthand, specially the mid-west. Pam is a professional beautician. She has her fingers in several opportunites in the area and is real busy.
