Summary of Experience & Focus

I am an experienced hospital operator with entrepreneurial flair focused on using enterprise management tools to deploy targeted and agile solutions to yield tipping points. I have developed solutions to manage labor use, communicate to large targeted audiences, process mission critical activities and manage diverse & geographically dispersed workgroups. I have many interests therefore unusual opportunities appeal to me.

Healthcare CEO & Consultant (Feb 2000-Present)

Served as the senior healthcare executive on the Fair Isaac Corp healthcare development team. Researched and helped shape potential solution opportunities through collaborative discussions with product, consulting, technical and sales leaders; developed a deep understanding of existing client solutions and how the proposed solution relates in the competitive marketplace.

Worked five years as a "road warrior" assisting groups associated with Community Health Systems based in Nashville, TN. In 2000, I mentored the hospital CEO and senior staff in Lubbock, TX. In 2001, I operated Northeast Medical Center in Bonham, TX. In 2002-2004 I developed, launched and operated an internet based healthcare strategy that generated $60 million net revenues. This program involved intensive development of product vision, detailed and close working relationships with physicians and office staff, management of diverse technology groups in multiple locations.

Healthcare Consultant & Business Owner (Nov 1998- Feb 2000)

From Nov 1998-May 1999, I served in a consulting CEO role for MedLINK providing crisis management and team development services. MedLINK Hospital at Capitol Hill was a private, nonprofit LTAC. MedLINK also operates a 230 Licensed Nursing Home. My wife and I developed an LLC and acquired two retail businesses in Virginia; this company was successfully liquidated in 2004.

Seven years service at two publicly held hospital companies operating, supervising and developing twenty-two hospitals. From June 1991-June 1993, at Charter Medical Corporation I operated hospitals in California, Nevada and Illinois. I was recruited from CPC to manage hospitals requiring special "turn-around" attention and subsequently assigned the Pacific Division in September 1991.

From May 1986-June 1991, at Community Psychiatric Centers I operated hospitals in Atlanta, GA and Southern California. During this tenure five new hospitals were developed (Laguna Hills, Fontana, Encinitas, Santa Ana and Brea Canyon). In the last year of supervision, the eight Southern California hospitals generated $100 million gross revenue and earned a 38% profit margin on operations. The EBDITA exceeded prior year by 42%. CPC Parkwood, a 152-bed hospital in Atlanta was a turn-around opportunity. In 18 months, census increased from 80 to 121, new programs were added and the hospital employee group thought of themselves as winners. Parkwood was designated "Hospital of the Year" in 1988.
