Mary Hughes Brown
I spend most of my time searching for the lost link after my 4G Grandfather John Yates so we can claim our ancestors and I add media to share.

If this is your first visit, I would simply click "What's New?" and follow your instincts. This is a good way to contact and send me things through my GMail: Reach Ron. Please enjoy the website.

And yes, there is a real human who spends his life working hard to get all this right and to share it!

John Yates & Benjamin Yates have been recognized as located in Crawford Co., IN 1820-1830. This is a case of hidden in plain sight! The search continues!

The master project is to solve a long standing problem of finding and documenting my immediate Yates paternal line beyond John Yates & Benjamin Yates found in Crawford Co., IN 1820-1830. We can document his descendants and their migration through Northern Kentucky, then Southern Indiana and beyond. We however have never been able to determine the name of the spouse(s) and parents.

The focus now is to make a leap of imagination; we are examining as many factual databases as possible such as DAR, SAT, American Revolution Pension applications and extending their documented descendants wherever possible. I consider this creating a “Top-Down Infrastructure.”

We are then adding to this the factual information where possible from death certificates and other generally reliable information from databases and extending where possible documented ancestors and descendants. I consider this creating a “Middle-Up Infrastructure”. The Middle-Up time period generally cover deaths 1850-1950 range; wherever possible documents are attached.

A webpage has been created to illustrate the various major Yates lines from immigrating ancestor down to what we know about their descendants. This is a detailed approached which is also married with family trees submitted to the Yates Y-DNA Project. While not an exact Meta Analysis I am hopeful we this will pay dividends. Just as Thomas Edison said he never had a failure, he just discovered 10,000 ways not to invent a light bulb; I can also say I have proven a considerable number of people named Yates that are not my ancestor. That is progress!
